DIY Frame TV

BEFORE

I always love having a fireplace as the focal point of the room and feel the TV above the fireplace is the perfect spot. But I hate what an eye sore the TV is.

I looked into Samsung Frame TV’s for the longest time, but just can’t seem to get my husband on board with such a pretty price tag.

I find myself struggling to make any electronic item appealing in home designs. I saw a few people build their own TV frames and thought, this is the perfect way to make the disguise the TV. So I went to Home Depot and picked out a few pieces of crown molding although this is not the route you have to go. I wanted the frame to have some depth and texture so we went with molding.

4 Easy Steps:

  1. Once you have your four pieces, cut each piece on a 45º angle to ensure the two pieces meet together, forming a perfect 90º angle.

  2. Spread wood glue evenly across one side of the angled cut and use a corner clamp to bring and hold the two pieces together.

  3. Wipe and excess glue off the front of the frame and lay flat with the front side up so an excess glue drips to the back.

  4. Repeat for each corner.

AFTER

We hung the frame using a hook on the back of the TV and TADA!

I feel like by adding this simple frame around our TV, it has really given our space an update… adding to the mantle rather than detracting the eye from it.

Below are some ways I have styled our fireplace for the seasons.
